Mr Josh Petterwood
Josh is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in joint replacement surgery and sports injuries.
At Petterwood Orthopaedics we pride ourselves on the use of the most up-to-date techniques and technologies. Josh is an early adopter of robotic technologies in Orthopaedics and is part of the Limited Market Release team bringing the Navio Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Replacement to Australia.
Josh uses the Navio-Robotic Assisted System for Total and Partial Knee Replacements.
He performs Direct Anterior Approach Total Hip Replacement Surgery.
Being a sportsman himself, Josh has a keen interest in the treatment of sporting injuries. He has a particular interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee including ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair and multi-ligament injuries.
Josh also performs surgery of the shoulder including all arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and both conventional and reverse Total Shoulder Replacement.
Josh is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FaOrthA). He obtained his medical qualifications at the University of Tasmania.
Josh is married with two young boys, Charlie and Leo. His wife Emma is the General Manager at Petterwood Orthopaedics and his eldest son Charlie is a frequent addition on weekend ward rounds at Calvary.
He spends his spare time between family and cycling.
